$15,000 Diamond Ring Stolen from Westfield Road Home; Man Robbed at ATM on Park Ave.

SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ -- Latest news from the Scotch Plains and Fanwood Police Blotters:

A Scotch Plains resident reported being a victim of a robbery at an ATM at a bank located at Park Ave. and Mountain Ave. on July 4. At approximately 8 pm, the victim was approached after receiving money by an unknown suspect , described as a Hispanic male, 5’ 5”, wearing Khaki pants, a red shirt and a bandana on his face, who demanded the cash. The victim dropped the money and ran to his car and fled the scene. No weapon was used.

A resident of Treeview Circle in Scotch Plains reported being a victim of a theft on July 3 when sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway. Once inside, the suspect(s) removed a laptop computer valued at approximately $1,000. Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

A resident of Westfield Road in Scotch Plains reported that a diamond ring valued at approximately $15,000 was removed his bedroom on July 2. The victim has several people over, and when they left he noticed the ring missing.

A resident in the 10 block of Mary Ln in Fanwood reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered by an unknown person between July 3rd and 4th.  The missing items included a backpack containing a lap top computer, $100 in cash, and a set of keys. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be $2,140.

A resident of  the 50 block of Farley Ave. reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and removed a lap top computer and a backpack between June 23rd and June 24th. The total value stolen is $ 995.
