PATERSON, NJ- They are educators and firefighters, business owners and accountants. They are also poets and actors, musicians and graphic artists. Together they are now all members of the newly re-appointed City of Paterson Grass Roots Cultural Arts Commission.
Appointed by Mayor Andre Sayegh and approved by the Paterson City Council on Tuesday, the 18 individuals will be tasked with making sure that Paterson continues to be known as a city that is “passionate about the arts,” Sayegh said at an August press conference announcing his intention ro revive the defunct body.
"The arts have been and always will be a foundation in rebuilding cities," Kyle Hughes, President of Paterson FMBA Local 2, as well as a writer and actor told TAPinto Paterson. " Our goal is to tap into what I know is a vast creative community in Paterson, allowing individuals to speak through their talents."
Appointed to the Grass Roots Cultural Arts Commission to serve until December 31, 2020 were:
