PISCATAWAY, NJ — Sadly, Middlesex County health officials reported two new deaths over the last 24-hours, increasing the death toll to 69 for Piscataway. 

Eleven new positive COVID-19 cases were reported for the township bringing the total to 4,381 since the start of the pandemic last March.  No additional information regarding the new cases was provided.

According to covid19.nj.gov, there are now 68,871 positive cases in Middlesex County and 1,888 deaths.

Yesterday, March 4, marked exactly 12 months since the first case of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, was reported in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Friday reported a total of 715,889 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 355 days ago. The death toll in New Jersey is 21,124. There have been 10,902,830 COVID-19 tests administered.

As of Friday, New Jersey has administered 2,333,723 vaccine doses, (1,544,835 first doses and 788,782 second doses).  In Middlesex County, the dashboard is showing that 187,877 doses (125,128 first doses and 62,743 second doses) of vaccines have been administered.
