2014 Mayor's Classic Basketball Tournament Comes To An End With Championship Game

ROSELLE, NJ - The Mayor's Classic Basketball Games ended Wednesday evening with the final games played and trophies awarded.

Mayor Jamel C. Holley praised the youth for their dedication to this event that started in early June and for three days a week they played their hearts out. “I’m proud of our youth for playing here on the courts and not out on our streets” said Mayor Holley

Under the direction of Donald Shaw Director of the Roselle Borough Park and Recreation Department and his support team of Kevon Beresford, Darahn Worilds, Dnean Wynn, and Jermain Randle (referee) they managed three divisions totaling 12 teams of 60 youths of different age levels.

The winning teams were “The Bulls” grades 5 to 8, “The Spurs” grades 3 and 4, and “The Knicks” grades 1 and 2. Congratulations go out to the winning teams and all of the youth who participated.

Whats next for Roselle Sports? Pop Warner Football and cheerleading starts this coming Friday.
