2014 Union County Arbor Day Poetry Contest Winners

UNION COUNTY, NJ - Students from across Union County participated in the 2014 Union County Arbor Day Poetry Contest. Union County Freeholder Bruce Bergen congratulated the winners. 

Dana Skerker, from the Columbia Middle School in Berkeley Heights took first place. Paige Kelly, from the St. Genevieve School in Elizabeth came in second place and Christy Zheng, from Roselle Park Middle School placed third.

Contestants, ranging from grades 4 through 8, had to prepare an original work in an effort to promote Arbor Day and creatively show the importance of trees in Union County.

ROSELLE, NJ - Dr. Charles C. Polk School is hosting their own Winter Wonderland on Thurs., Dec. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Don't go the the mall! Go to Polk School, take the family and take pictures with Santa and their Winter Wonderland at a cost of $3. 

Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The School is located at 1100 Warren St. in Roselle. 

 

 

Roselle Tax Sale on Friday

ROSELLE, NJ – The Borough of Roselle will hold the annual sale of unpaid real estate taxes, Friday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers. This is not a property or foreclosure sale.

A tax sale, which is required by the State of New Jersey N.J. S.A 54: 5-1, ET SEQ., is not a property sale. Conducted by the tax collector, the tax sales generate income for the town.
