DENVILLE, NJ -- New and unwrapped toys can be donated through Dec 18. Donations can be placed in the large box in the lobby of the Denville Municipal Hall (1 Saint Mary's Place). Unlike in prior years, local businesses will not be able to host donation boxes due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Another change this year is the acceptance of gift cards that parents can use to purchase toys for their children. Again, because of the pandemic, some people may prefer to avoid shopping in stores, or another lockdown might be mandated by the governor. Denville Social Services will accepted Visa cards or gift cards from Amazon, Target and Walmart.
"We ask that gift cards be placed in an envelope marked “Social Services – Toy Drive” and placed in the locked drop box outside Township Hall or delivered to the Social Service’ office on the second floor," stated Stephen Dublanica, Denville Township Social Services coordinator.
The age and gender breakdown of the 73 township children who need toys this year appears above.
