$32K in Jewelry Stolen from Westfield Home

April 23, 2014

Darryl Hill, 45, of Baltimore, MD was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest from East Greenwich Municipal Court in the amount of $89.00, pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Hill was arrested, processed and posted bail.

A resident from the 300 block of John Street reports being the victim of a theft. Unknown actors entered the victim’s vehicle and removed items from the vehicle.

April 24, 2014 3:56 p.m.

Joseph Margaritondo, 45, of Union was arrested on an outstanding Beach Haven Boro Municipal Court Criminal Warrant ($375.00) pursuant to turning himself in at Headquarters. Margaritondo was processed and released after posting required bail.

April 25, 2014 9:11 a.m.

Elizabeth Geller, 42, of Westfield responded to Westfield Police Department in order to satisfy warrants totaling $281.00.

April 25, 2014 9:45 a.m.

Report of a prowler that entered an open motor vehicle in the 300 block of Brightwood Avenue. No theft reported at present.

April 25, 2014 9:02 p.m.

A resident of the 100 block of Ferris Place reports a burglary. Actor(s) entered the residence by shouldering open the locked front door causing damage to the door and door jams. This occurred sometime between 6:15 p.m. and 8:46 p.m. Once inside, actor(s) rummaged through the bedroom drawers. Actor(s) apparently exited through a basement door after smashing the door’s window. Taken was approximately $32,000.00 worth of various jewelry.

April 27, 2014 3:27 p.m.

Justin Bellotti, 30, of Westfield was arrested on an outstanding Paterson Criminal Warrant. Bellotti was processed and held for the Paterson Police Department.

April 27, 2014 9:28 p.m.

After being stopped for motor vehicle violations Laquanda Harrington, 25, of Rochester, NY was arrested for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Harrington was released after processing.

April 28, 2014 10:40 a.m.

Jason Deleon, 33, of Linden responded to Westfield Headquarters to satisfy two outstanding traffic warrants from Westfield and Springfield Municipal Courts. Bail was posted at $209.00 and $120.00 with signed court waivers.

April 28, 2014 3:35 p.m.

A resident in the 1000 block of Rahway Avenue reported an act of identity theft. Actor(s) used personal information to file a federal tax return in the victim’s name resulting in a delivered check for $7,175.00 from the U.S. Treasury Department. The check was returned by the victim.

April 28, 2014 9:29 p.m.

Daniel Korduba, 18, of Scotch Plains was arrested for defiant trespassing at Memorial Pool, 713 Cumberland Street, in Westfield pursuant to an investigation. Korduba was transported to Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance.

April 28, 2014 10:21 p.m.

A resident of the 400 block of Boulevard reports being the victim of a burglary between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:21 p.m. on 04/28/14. Stolen from the residence was approximately $500.00 worth of jewelry.

April 29, 2014 9:36 a.m.

An associate of a business establishment in the 400 block of South Avenue (East) reported theft and criminal mischief to two vehicles on company property. Actor(s) damaged two vehicles and removed a mounted tire with an estimated value of $200.00. There are no suspect(s) at this time.
