CHATHAM, NJ - Matt Pridham, the fire inspector for Chatham Borough, was so impressed by the enthusiasm for fire safety shown by ECLC student Max Smokler that he set up a surprise for him at the Chatham Firehouse.

Smokler was presented with his own firefighter coat and pants on Friday afternoon.

Past Chatham Borough Fire Chief Peter Glogolich taught Chatham students about fire prevention for the 27th straight year - Oct. 8 through Oct. 13 - and reached 765 Chatham adults and children. He talks about fire prevention week in the video below.
