400 Career Wins for Bishop Ahr Baseball Coach Scott Runkel

EDISON, NJ – Bishop Ahr baseball coach Scott Runkel joined the ranks of only 24 other New Jersey baseball coaches to achieve 400 career victories last week.

The Bishop Ahr Trojans pummeled South River, 11-3, inscribing Runkel in to the record books. When the game was over, his players presented him with a signed bat to as a memento.

Runkel has spent 31 of his 32 years as the head varsity baseball coach for BGA. His current career record stands at 399 wins and 249 loses. He has produced two major league players, Kevin Mulvey and Darrin Winston. Besides his impressive career wins he has never missed a game in the past 32 years of coaching at BGA.

"Even if all Scott did was coach baseball, I know that he would be a happy man," said Mike Wolfthal, BGA Athletic Director.
