50 Shades of Grey was originally an eBook published in 2011 by British author E. L. James.  The erotic bestseller explores the relationship between college newspaper reporter, Anastasia Steele, and powerful, young business magnate, Christian Grey – a control freak in every facet of his life, including the bedroom.

The novel gained instant notoriety for its sex scenes and its popularity among women over 30.  The book is part of a trilogy that has sold an estimated 100 million copies worldwide.  The film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey stars Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, and Jamie Dornan, a former Calvin Klein model.
