SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team nailed down their third straight victory of the season behind two timely goals from Alexa Reilly, winning 3-1. South Plainfield High School took the lead ten minutes before the halftime break on a corner kick. Spotswood bounced back in the second half to tie the game on Reilly's first goal. The senior buried the tying goal off of a cross from Carolina Fernandez.

Five minutes later, Reilly netted the game winner from a pass from freshman Kirti Craig. Fernandez gave Spotswood breathing room, scoring the insurance goal late in the second half. Amber Meagher assisted on Fernandez's goal. Fernandez has notched a goal in all of Spotswood's wins this season with six goals in three games. Samantha Pullen scored the lone goal for South Plainfield. Julia Masucci made eight saves for Spotswood. Masucci has only allowed one goal in the Chargers first three games, earning shutouts in Spotswood's first two outings. Brianna Slover made 12 saves for the Tigers.

Spotswood currently sits atop the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division with a 3-0 record. Metuchen High School and Wardlaw-Hartridge High School are also undefeated. The Chargers return home today with a game against Middlesex High School at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field. Middlesex is 0-2-1 on the 2018 season. Game time is 4 p.m.
