MILLBURN, NJ – Mayor Robert Tillotson and some Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce board members were on hand to help the owners of Align Wellness Studio cut the ribbon and welcome the new business to town.
Partners Mindy Catron, Tara Roscioli and Gwen Vigorito have opened their studio at 10 East Willow St. (across the street from ShopRite). They hold private and small-group sessions for Pilates, Cardio Fitness, and LeBarre, as well as offering massage therapy, holistic health coaching and more.
The partners had worked together at Core, Mind & Body in Maplewood, and when the owner that studio decided to close down, the three decided to open up their own studio to continue working their existing clients and expand the services they could offer. Align Wellness Studio currently has 12 instructors on staff.
“It all came together very quickly,” said partner Mindy Catron. “Within two months of coming up with the concept, we were open in this amazing space.” A serendipitous lunch discussion with a realtor friend about their plans led them to the East Willow Street space, which was just becoming available. There was very little work needed to adapt the offices to the studio they had envisioned and they jumped at the chance.
“We have been pleasantly overwhelmed with the response,” said Catron. Many of their existing customers made the move with them, as did much of the staff. The trio has built a loyal following because of the personal attention they give each client.
“You get a very personalized workout,” Catron said. She noted that about half of the sessions they are currently doing are private, and half are small-group, with only four clients for equipment-based classes and up to 12 in cardio classes. Their workouts get results for their clients, she said, because their goal is to “work out smarter,” finding what works best for each individual.
In addition to exercise, they have a few different experts in-house that offer other services. Roscioli runs a program called Highway to Well, which offers health and nutrition coaching. The new office for Soul Sprout Family Acupuncture will be opening in a week or two. There is also a therapist who has a private practice within the studio providing the Rolfe method of massage.
There are no monthly membership fees, as all services are offered a la carte. All services are available for men and women, and the studio has full locker and shower facilities.
