CLARK, NJ - Aliperti’s Ristorante has closed its doors after decades of serving traditional Italian fare from its Raritan Road location.

A Century 21 real estate sign hangs on the front of the building and a “For Rent” sign has been placed along the curb. On the locked entrance door is a sign informing guests that “Christina’s bridal shower has been moved” to The Gran Centurions.

According to the company’s Facebook page, Aliperti’s was owned and operated by Garry Ruane. Ruane also owns the banquet facility at The Gran Centurions at 440 Madison Hill Road in Clark. The website currently redirects to The Gran Centurions website. Calls to The Gran Centurions for a comment were not returned.

Property owner Ed Lubrano, who also owns and operates J & E Auto Body next door to the shuttered restaurant, said the restaurant closed on May 31 but didn't specifically know why. The restaurant was owned in the 1950s by Lubrano’s father, Tito Lubrano, who ran it as Tito’s Restaurant for many years. The family sold the restaurant business more than 25 years ago. He is hopeful of finding a new tenant soon.
