FLORHAM PARK, NJ — The Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey (AAGNJ) chapter has announced an inaugural statewide partnership with Fort Lee-based health care provider CareOne, LLC, which has committed to be the 2019 statewide sponsor of the five Walk to End Alzheimer’s events—the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Funds raised through this partnership will enhance the AAGNJ’s care and support programs, including the 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900) and provide educational materials on brain health as well as funds for critical Alzheimer’s disease research and grassroots awareness activities. In addition, the AAGNJ will provide services, support and education on brain health and Alzheimer’s disease to CareOne staff, caregivers and early-onset constituents.
According to AAGNJ, the sponsorship also includes co-hosting an educational conference to be planned and developed collaboratively later this year.
“With 32 facilities in New Jersey, this commitment from CareOne will move the Alzheimer’s cause forward," said Cheryl Ricci-Francione, AAGNJ executive director. “Together we will reach more families who need information, resources and guidance as they face an Alzheimer’s diagnosis and caregiving challenges. In addition, funding will support critical research exploring the causes of, and treatments for, Alzheimer’s disease.”
CareOne, LLC, a family-owned health care company, provides services that include post-hospital care, rehabilitation, assisted living, long-term care, memory care and a variety of clinical specialty programs as well as compassionate care in several New Jersey centers and communities. With 57 centers located across six states and throughout New Jersey—including facilities in Livingston, Paramus and Parsippany—CareOne serves thousands of patients every day and admits/discharges more than 20,000 patients every year.
“We're thrilled to be teaming up with the AAGNJ chapter to help find a cure for one of the greatest threats to the health of increasing numbers of Americans every year, especially the families that we serve here in New Jersey," said Tim Hodges, chief strategy officer with CareOne, LLC. “We are proud to make this commitment to the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association and its critical fight to end Alzheimer’s disease.”
In addition to the Inaugural Statewide Sponsorship of the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimers, the collaboration between AAGNJ and CareOne also includes CareOne membership to the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Provider Roundtable (AADCPR).
With Beth Stasyshyn, vice president of business development, and Dementia Specialist Joan DiPaola each serving a one-year term, the addition of CareOne brings AADCPR membership to 26.
The mission of the AADCPR is to advance care and support services for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias and their caregivers, through the dissemination and adoption of evidence-based practice recommendations.
The AADCPR brings together visionary leaders from dementia care providers—including nursing homes, assisted living and home-and community-based services—to discuss key areas in Alzheimer’s Care.
The Alzheimer's Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research, is on a mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The ultimate vision of the organization is “a world without Alzheimer's.”
AAGNJ is headquartered in Florham Park and serves 14 counties in Northern and Central New Jersey. Visit alz.org/nj for more information on this chapter, or call the Alzheimer’s Association’s 24/7 Helpline at (800) 272-3900.
