BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Amalia Heissler, goalie for Gov. Livingston field hockey, had 24 saves in the Highlanders' 4-0 loss to Montclair Kimberley Academy on Thursday, Sept. 26 in front of the home crowd. Helping with the defense, Lauren Sobol and Isha Mehrotra each had a goal line save.
"The team is coming together real nice and we have improved a lot from the beginning of the season," said senior captain Katie Morrison. The team faced a tough schedule so far, playing teams of a higher level of competition. Junior Ryan Shepherd added, "We need to come out in the first half to get the win we're looking for."
"The second half was a good example of the normal play," said coach Lindsay Mirabella. "Our conference and county is challenging. Upcoming games will help to even out our record." She has a strong group of players with potential and spirit.
The Gov. Livingston field hockey team's next game is on the road against Newark Academy on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. The quarterfinal round of the UCIAC Tournament begins Saturday, Oct. 5.
