Amie Buchanan, Jamie Lowenstein and Carly Marquez Participate in Drama Competition


VOORHEES, NJ- Sparta High School theater students once again participated in the New Jersey Drama and Forensics League competition on Saturday, Feb 1.  The tournament took place at Eastern High School in Voorhees Township, Camden county. 

Sparta students Jamie Lowenstein and Carly Marquez took second place in the Dramatic Pairs category.  Lowenstein and Amie Buchanan placed third in the Improvisational Pairs category.   Continuing the good day, Lowenstein earned second place in the Comedic Monologue.

The competitions offer 13 different categories for student to compete including Dramatic Monologue, Persuasive, Poetry, Impromptu and Musical Pairs, among others.

In addition to Sparta High School and Eastern there were students from Raritan, Absegami, Mainland, Northern Burlington, Dumont and Kingsway high schools.

There are two additional competitions scheduled at the end of February at Raritan High School and in May at Dumont High School.
