UNION, NJ - Thanks to a special grant from the Community Library Adult Literacy and Career Pathway Grant Program and the Union Public Library partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, the Union Public Library (UPL) offers free ESOL classes to all interested New Jersey residents. 

An Open House for free English classes for speakers of other languages (ESOL) will be offered on Monday, May 6, from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Classes are open to all interested New Jersey residents.  Course books will be provided.  Classes will meet two-days per week for eight-weeks. In addition to attending classes, online lab assignments are required.

Classes are scheduled in the morning and evening.   Class levels include Beginner, High Beginner, and Intermediate. More advanced levels may be added later.   

All interested New Jersey residents can: 

• Call the library and leave your name and contact information, at 908-851-5450.

• Take a pre-test to determine class level and fill out a registration form.

• Commit to attending the program for the entire eight-weeks.

NOTE: Only participants who complete the entire eight-week program will receive a certificate.
