Anna Judd Makes Stop at Scotchwood Diner in Her 3,400-Mile Run Across America

August 23, 2014 at 7:00 AM

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Anna Judd, who has been running across the country since March, jogged through Scotch Plains and made a stop at the Scotchwood Diner this week en route to her final destination at the World Trade Center in New York City today.

Unlike the fictional character Forest Gump, Judd, who is accompanied on the cross-country run by her good friend “Robot”, is running for a good cause. She is raising money and awareness for military veterans through Team Red, White & Blue and the Wounded Warrior Project on her epic journey.

“We were so lucky to have had the chance to run with Anna and Robot,” said Caroline Angel, Central New Jersey Team Captain of Team Red, White & Blue. “They have been on an amazing journey and have been an incredible inspiration to so many,” added Angel, whose team ran with Judd from Dunellen to Scotch Plains this week.

Judd will complete her 3,400 mile run across America today. Anyone that is interested in completing the journey with Judd can join the hundreds that are expected to run with her for a 13-mile run that begins tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. at the George Washington Bridge (NJ side).

For those that may be interested in making a donation to the cause should email Caroline Angel at caroline.angel@teamrwb.org or visit http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/ANNARUNSAMERICA/annarunsamerica.

The loss of a job; illness of the major breadwinner, or an increase in rent due to gentrification can catch families in a downward ...
