NEWARK, NJ - Pillar College announces the launch of the David E. Schroeder Biblical Studies Scholarship.

Schroeder (and Pastor for over 24 years), the scholarship provides eligible students enrolling in the Biblical Studies BA degree major an opportunity to receive up to $15,000 per year and pay no more than $7500 per year*. “We are a Christian college, educating, inspiring and equipping students for service and leadership. We believe God leads people to Pillar because He has special plans for them. We are excited to be able to offer this scholarship. We have a strong Biblical Studies degree program, and for those who are called to ministry leadership, this scholarship makes the program extremely affordable”, expressed Dr. Schroeder. Who can benefit from a B.A. degree in Biblical Studies? Anyone in pursuit of a career in a variety of ministries, including: pastoring a Christian church, Christian education, the mission field, social work and services, media and technology, chaplaincy work, and more. Also, current Pastors who are seeking academic credential and/or more biblical education will benefit from this degree.

“Because of our small class size, we engage with our students on a personal level, offering counsel and prayer as well as excellent teaching. We care about our students!” expresses Department Chair, Dr. Peter Amerman. “Our B.A.in Biblical Studies program is designed to prepare graduates for success in careers including full-time ordained pastoral ministry, but also ministering and serving in many areas like Chaplaincy- hospital, prison or military, work in overseas missions and para-church organizations, Christian education, worship ministry, “Business as Mission”, and so much more.”

Pillar College also offers a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership (MAML). Students completing their B.A. in Biblical Studies, at the reduced expense due to the DES Scholarship, can enroll in the MAML program and get credit for 12 of the required 48 credits, a 25% savings. MAML is a cohort-based seminary-level program designed to produce academically, ethically and spiritually competent professional ministry leaders.
