BAYONNE, NJ - A storm expected to bring up to two inches of rain and wind gusts of more than 55 miles per hour Monday has the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management (OEM) urging residents to be prepared for inclement weather expected to arrive in the morning and last through the evening.

The strong winds create the potential for downed wires and tree limbs, and possible scattered power outages. Residents are reminded to never approach or touch downed wires and to report them immediately by calling 9-1-1. Keeping cell phones charged and flashlights nearby is advised.

Localized street flooding is also possible and drivers are advised to never attempt to drive through water. Homeowners are also advised to secure any loose items and decorations around their property, as these items can become projectiles in strong wind storms.
