WEST CALDWELL, NJ - At 11:25 p.m., Saturday evening, the West Caldwell Police reported to Russillo Pizzeria on reports of a carjacking.
According to employees of the restaurant, the restaurant's owner was locking up for the night and walking out to his car, along with one of his male employees. The two men were approached by a white and black male who, according to police, ordered them to the ground, demanded cash, personal items and the keys to the restaurant owner's car.
At some point a struggle ensued between the white man and the employee, and the employee received a punch to the face. According to police, both of the suspects were wearing ski masks and one of the suspects showed a handgun.
The two suspects reportedly took the restaurant owner's car - a White BMW, four door sedan, with license plate A82-DVF - and headed east on Bloomfield Avenue.
The employee was treated at Mountainside Hospital for his injury.
