Armed Robbery at Game Stop in Watchung Square Mall


WATCHUNG, NJ - According to a statement from  Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Stuart Buckman and Watchung Borough Acting Chief of Police Joe Cina, the Game Stop store in the Watchung Square Mall was robbed by a man armed wiith a semi-automatic handgun. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Thursday evening.

An employee of the store told police that a man entered the store at about 9 p.m., then pointed a black handgun at him and ordered him to lock the store doors. The gunman then took an undisclosed amount of currency and electronics, hit the employee on the left side of his face with the gun, and left the store, according to police. The rsuspect is described as a man, about 6-feet tall, wearing baggy dark blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, gloves, an orange scarf and carrying a one strap black backpack.
