Armed Robbery of Two Teen Girls on Harrison Avenue by Three Males

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Two 17-year-old females were leaving a party on Chestnut Street and walking in in the vicinity of 69 Harrison Ave. when three black males, estimated to be between 16 and 25 years of age, began to engage them in conversation by saying, "What are you doing?" at around 10:30 Saturday night.

The girls did not respond and kept walking, but the young males persisted.  It was at that point that one of the males brandished a black handgun and a cell phone belonging to one of the girls was taken. One of the victims was also slapped in the face. The males then fled down Chestnut Street towards Franklin Avenue.

The police are continuing to investigate, and The Alternative Press of West Orange will provide updates as they become available.
