GLEN ROCK, NJ - The Arts Council of Glen Rock held its first Member Appreciation event January 24 at The Creative Den on Rock Road in Glen Rock.

Turnout was greater than expected with 50+ members and many new faces. Guests were welcomed with an “artsy appetizer and craft cocktail tasting”. Amy Martin, co-chair of ACGR, thanked everyone who helped put together this evening: Tara McKee owner of The Creative Den for hosting, Serrano Catering, Mark Schraer, Beekmans Liquors and Jon Sporn for his acoustical jazz playing throughout the evening.

Members were treated to food and drink demonstrations. Megianne Serrano showed everyone how easy it is to create an artsy app - Manchego Toast with Proscuitto Di Parma and Pepper Sauce. Mark Schraer, in his humorous fashion, showed everyone the “shake, rattle and roll” in mixing up a Smokey Mezcal Cider.

Another evening highlight was an invitation to the guests to write down what artistic endeavor they would like to see. “As we continue to evolve, it's important to know what the community wants. Our success depends on providing creative and artistically interesting events that Glen Rockers want to see,“ said Liza Arnao, co-chair.

Nena Colligan, a ACGR member and Glen Rock resident, was amazed at how professional and fun the evening was. "This is very creative group of people who put on a fabulous event right down to the take away goodies bags, recipes included."
