BRIDGEWATER-RARITAN, NJ – Westfield’s powerful attack of Chris Aslanian and Luke Prybylski produced more than just six combined goals on Saturday at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. They produced a 10-5 state championship victory.

Aslanian and Prybylski’s tallies were too much for BWR to handle, as the Blue Devil duo outscored the entire Panthers team in the game.

Westfield led from the start, as their defense held Bridgewater-Raritan scoreless in the first quarter. Leading 3-0 after one, the Blue Devils continued to put the pressure on the Panthers, scoring twice more taking a 5-2 advantage into halftime.

The Blue Devils then exploded for four goals in the third, while holding BWR to just a single strike.

Bridgewater-Raritan could not figure out Westfield goalkeeper Alex D’Amato, who made seven saves on 12 shots to earn the victory.

Griffin Figel led the Panthers with three goals and an assist.

With the victory, Westfield advances to play Southern Regional in the Group 4 final on Wednesday at Somerville High School.
