Author of Book Featuring Recipes of Holocaust Survivors to Speak at 'Ladies Night Out'

June Feiss Hersh, author of Recipes Remembered: a Celebration of Survival, a compilation of the remarkable stories and authentic recipes of Holocaust survivors, will be the featured speaker at “Ladies Night Out” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Sponsored by Women’s Philanthropy of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, the program will take place at Congregation Beth Israel, 18 Shalom Way, Scotch Plains.

Recipes Remembered gives voice to the remarkable stories and cherished recipes of the Holocaust community. The first professionally written kosher cookbook of its kind, Recipes Remembers is a moving compilation of food memories, stories about food and families, and recipes from Holocaust survivors from Poland, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and Greece.

Feiss Hersh writes cookbooks with a charitable flavor. She finds cookbook writing a perfect way to express her love for writing with her passion for cooking.

The couvert of $36 includes the presentation and a light kosher buffet dinner. The event is open to the entire community although space is limited. Early reservations are recommended. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
