Bar Patron Subdued After Threatening Employee

MADISON, NJ - A Madison resident had to be restrained by police after threatening a bar employee with a box cutter.

According to Madison police, on Dec. 18, Manish Jariwala, 45, of Madison refused to leave the 54 Main Bar and Grille after being asked to leave when he was intoxicated. Patrolman Vincent Dellavalle arrived when police were called to the scene at around 3:45 p.m., and he and other officers restrained Jariwala when he produced a box cutter and threatened one of the bartenders with it.

Jariwala was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and harassment. Jariwala was being held in the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 bail pending a court appearance.
