STAFFORD — The Stafford Township Police Department arrested a Barnegat man on charges of Terroristic Threats, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct after a viral video was posted on a number of social media sites.  The video showed a customer at the Manahawkin Costco berating and threatening an employee and caused a scene inside the store on July 29, 2020.

The Stafford Township Police Department released a statement on their Facebook page on August 5.

The post continued stating that Stafford Township Police Officer Joseph Stanziano took the initial complaint and began the investigation. Members of the Stafford Township Detective Bureau later identified the suspect with the assistance of the patrol division and concerned members of the public who were posting information on social media.

As a result of these efforts, the suspect was positively identified as, William Commauf, 48 years old of Cannonball Drive in Barnegat, New Jersey. 

“Call all the managers you want. I don’t give a f— who your manager is,” Commauf said. “He ain’t tough enough to stop me.”

“Go get the manager? Go get your husband. I’ll smack him around,” Commauf continued. "You're an old hag, you're an old ugly hag. Ring it up, you old hag.”


On August 5, 2020, a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was arrested with the assistance of the Barnegat Township Police Department without incident.



Commauf was charged with Terroristic Threats, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct.

He was processed at the Stafford Township Police Department, and transported to the Ocean County Jail.

The Stafford Township Police Department stated that they "would like to thank the public for all of their assistance with this investigation."
