BERNARDSVILLE, NJ -- Junior Eddie Gambelli's walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a furious rally that gave Bernards a 12-11 Senior Day baseball victory over Pingry on Thursday.

With Bernards (9-10) trailing 8-0, senior Kevin Castro began the comeback with his first varsity hit, a double that drove in two runs. Ryan Falduto's two-run home run narrowed the gap to 8-4 in the second inning.

Bernards took an 11-10 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. It all began with a walk to Senior Nick Booher (who walked three times and had an RBI and a run) and a single by senior Justin Fuls (three hits, two doubles, two RBI, one run). Booher walked twice in the fourth and Fuls had two hits in the inning.

Gambelli's throw from left field also cut down a potential go-ahead runner at the plate to end the sixth inning. David Iaione went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI in the victory. Falduto was the winning pitcher, going four innings in relief, striking out six, walking one and allowing one run, which was unearned.
