EAST HANOVER, NJ -- Hanover Park scored six runs in the third inning and went on to a 12-4 baseball victory over Bernards in the first round of the Section 2, Group 2 state tournament on Tuesday.

Justin Fuls' three-run home run in the fifth inning, which at the time brought Bernards within 7-3, was the highlight for the Mountaineers (10-12). Hanover Park scored one run in the fifth and four in the sixth inning to put the game away.

Although eliminated from the state tournament, Bernards still has games remaining. The Mountaineers will host Rutgers Prep on Wednesday and then finish up their schedule Thursday with a road game agains Delaware Valley.
