CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Coral Springs park crews will re-install basketball hoops this weekend in city parks for minimal use only, officials said this week.

That means, based on Broward County orders: Starting on July 3, pick-up games won’t be  permitted, but you can play games such as "horse.” Basketball courts are limited to individual use and organized athletic leagues, however social distancing must be maintained at all times to the extent possible.

What other activities are permitted in the city’s 49 parks?

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Walking/Running/Jogging: Residents can enjoy the parks while maintaining social distancing of at least six feet between people when crossing paths.

Volleyball: Residents can play in 5v5 games, while practicing safety guidelines.

Tennis/Pickleball: Tennis and pickleball courts are limited to a maximum of four people on a court at one time (singles or doubles play only). The Tennis Center is open and accepting new members.

Racquetball: Racquetball courts are limited to a maximum of two people on the court at any one time.

Organized Sports: Soccer, baseball, basketball, softball and other sports are permitted so long as the activity is part of an established athletic league or part of an organized program (municipal or otherwise). Organized sports include practice sessions and tournaments and are exempt from the park limitation restricting groups to no more than 10 people. Spectators are allowed as long as there’s social distancing and other safety measures are taken.

All fields require a permit/reservation. Contact the Parks and Recreation office at 954-345-2200 to reserve a spot.

All parks will be closing at sunset on July 4th. For more information, visit:  www.coralsprings.org/parks.
