WEST CALDWELL, NJ – Residents were made award on Saturday about a bear that was wandering in the area of Johnson Avenue in West Caldwell. According to police, the bear was last seen entering a wooded area, but residents are urged to contact the police if the bear re-appears in residential zones.

The West Caldwell Police Department released a statement on Saturday afternoon reminding residents not to leave food unattended outside or in garbage cans outside, as it could attract bears and other wildlife to their properties.
