Bell, Watson Coleman and Lance Advance in Primary Battles

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Conservative political consultant Jeff Bell has won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. The former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan defeated Freehold businessman Richard Pezzullo, West Orange businessman Brian Goldberg, and Murray Sabrin, a professor at Ramapo College. Bell will face Democrat Cory Booker in November.

In New Jersey's 12th District, Bonnie Watson Coleman emerged victorious over Linda Greenstein, Upendra Chivukula and Andrew Zwicker for the Democratic nomination to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Rush Holt. Watson Coleman will take on Republican Dr. Alieta Eck in November’s election. Eck was unopposed.

Voters in New Jersey's 7th Congressional District chose incumbent U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance over Tewksbury businessman David Larsen in the Republican primary. In November, Lance will oppose Democrat Janice Kovach, the mayor of Clinton.
