The date is set for the annual Berkeley Heights Clean Communities Clean Up Day. On Saturday, September 24, local organizations and residents are invited to come out and help clean up liter in public areas in town - parks, playgrounds and other public rights of way. Each volunteer that helps clean up for the morning of September 24 will be "paid" $10.00 which will be donated to a non-profit organization of their choice.

Volunteers will gather on Saturday at 9:00 AM in the parking lot of the Berkeley Heights Community Center on Park Avenue to receive their clean up assignments, gloves and garbage bags. After cleaning up litter and recyclables everyone returns to the Community Center and are invited to enjoy hot dogs, drinks and some fun games. If the event needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, September 25, starting at 12 noon.

The Berkeley Heights Clean Communities Clean Up Day is part of the New Jersey Clean Communities Program for the Township of Berkeley Heights in cooperation with the Suburban Chamber of Commerce and with sponsorship of the Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission.
