BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - On Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 8:11 pm, Ptl. Ron DeSimoni arrested Rain Pendis, 43, of Plainfield.  Pendis was the operator of a 2003 Dodge and was stopped after Ptl. DeSimoni checked his license plate through his in car computer.  The check revealed that the license plate was reported stolen in Helmetta, NJ, on March 20, 2014.  Pendis was stopped and placed under arrest without incident.  Pendis was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with theft of property.  Pendis was also charged with the following motor vehicle violations: driving while suspended, driving without a license, unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle and fictitious license plates.  Pendis was given a date to appear in Berkeley Heights Municipal Court and was released.
