Berkeley Heights Police Blotter:Home Burglaries And Arrests Made During "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Initiative

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The following individuals were arrested as Berkeley Heights police officers took part in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration “Drive sober or get pulled over” initiative:

August 22, 2014     11:07 pm
Ptl. Michael Gallaro arrested Michael Rodgers, 48, of Newark. Rodgers was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, driving without a license and failure to pull to the left for a stopped emergency vehicle.

August 23, 2014     1:09 am
Ptl. Frank Mea arrested Sheri J. Bonsall, 55, of Long Hill Township. Bonsall was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage.

Det. Jason Massimino arrested Clayton L. Dossantos, 33, of Newark. Dossantos was charged with driving while intoxicated, improper turn, reckless driving and careless driving.

Ptl. Brian Nigro arrested William S. McLaughlin, 56, of Basking Ridge. McLaughlin was charged with driving while intoxicated and improper maintenance of lamps.

Burglaries were reported to and investigated by the Berkeley Heights Police Department on August 23, 2014. The two locations were a Maple Avenue address and a Barnstable Rd. address. Both residences were entered through the rear of the homes. Proceeds from the thefts are still being determined at this time.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Acting Lt. Robert Deitch arrested Miguel J. Aleman, 29, of North Plainfield. Aleman was the operator of a 2007 Ford and when stopped was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, namely a glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue. Aleman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a date to appear in Berkeley Heights Municipal Court.
