BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — The small businesses of Olcott Square in Bernardsville rallied together on Thursday night to host an evening holiday shopping and social event, "Bernardsville is Abuzz with Holiday Cheer."

The owners of The Bagel Bin, Sari and David Mazen, organized the event with hopes of bringing some semblance of normalcy to downtown Bernardsville in the midst of the pandemic.

“We wanted to create a free shopping event and draw people to come shop before the holiday season,” said Sari Mazen.

Participants included The Bagel Bin, who hosted a variety of crafters and vendors, Bling by Design, David Hinson Designs, Diamond Dream, Fairy Tale Inc., Laura Clare, The Rebecca Collection and Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery.

Unsure of whether shoppers would take advantage of this open house-style shopping event during a spike in COVID cases, the store owners were pleased with the turn out.  Shoppers and hosts wore their masks, sanitizer was available at each shopping location and the crowds were light as they were spread throughout Olcott Square.
