This EP has three brand new Christmas songs featuring Allison and the big band. Our first track on the EP, Thankful This Christmas, is a motown-esque romp through Allison and Caleb’s newest song. The lyrics follow a couple spending time together during the Christmas season. It features NYC guitarist Eric Zolan, a rising star on the straight ahead jazz scene.

Next up is from band leader Phil Engsberg, a tasty arrangement of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. This is an instrumental, and one of our newer members James Gibbs III on flugelhorn. He’s just an all around incredible trumpet player, and you’ll hear it as soon as you check out the track!

Rounding out the EP is Sleigh Ride, an arrangement from band leader Ryan Tomski. There’s a modern edge to the arrangement, but it still keeps an eye on the past. Allison’s vocals add an RnB twinge to the top, and Brooklyn’s Josh Marcus fills in the cracks on alto saxophone.

We’re incredibly proud of A VERY BIG BEAT CHRISTMAS! We hope you enjoy it, and share it with your friends and family during this Holiday season.

We are a BIG band… and as you can imagine, it’s nearly impossible to socially distance with so many people. We aren’t rehearsing in person, and we aren’t performing publicly at this time.

BUT! We’ve found creative ways to record our music with the help of Philip Engsberg who mixed this entire project, piece by piece! He did an amazing job.

Rounding out the production was mastering by Mark Pawlak and artwork by the talented Frankie Dixon. Everyone donated their time to this project, and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work of our musicians, artists, and engineers.
