Bishop Ahr Coach Runkel Approaches 400th Career Win

EDISON, NJ – Coach Scott Runkel of Bishop George Ahr High School Varsity Baseball could possibly reach 400 career wins today against Peddie School.

Coach Runkel will soon be the 25th coach in the history of New Jersey high school baseball to reach the 400 marker.

Coach Runkel has spent 31 of his 32 years as the head varisty baseball coach for BGA. His current career record stands at 399 wins and 249 loses. He has produced two MLB players, Kevin Mulvey and Darrin Winston. Besides his impressive career wins he has never missed a game in the past 32 years of coaching at BGA.

"Even if all Scott did was coach baseball, I know that he would be a happy man," said Mike Wolfthal, BGA Athletic Director.

Today’s game starts at 2:30 p.m. in Highstown, NJ.
