BLOOMFIELD, NJ--The Bloomfield Division of Public Safety announced that Brian Griffin is the “2020 Firefighter of the Year.” Griffin is a 13 year veteran of the fire department.

"FF Griffin has the qualities and attributes you look for in a firefighter.  He is always stepping up and taking on projects at the fire stations he has been assigned to. He doesn’t think twice about doing repairs and maintenance on equipment both on the fire apparatus and the firehouse itself. FF Griffin has proven himself to be one of the most reliable firefighters within the department and is well established as a member that can be counted on in any situation.  All these above mentioned qualities make FF Griffin deserving of this honorable distinction," said Chief Louis Venezia.

The Firefighter of the Year Award has been given out since 2018. The Bloomfield Fire Department provides 24 hour fire suppression services to the Township of Bloomfield.  There are four firehouses situated throughout the township. The Department also provides first responder medical services.
