BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- Obal's Inn, a fixture in Bloomfield since the 1950s, is planning a comeback.  Most restaurants and bars have felt the squeeze since early last year with COVID restrictions greatly hampering the way food and beverage businesses were permitted to operate.

In early February, reports started circulating that Obals was closing their doors for good as a result of the downturn in business.  The reaction from the Bloomfield community was remarkable as social media was flooded with disappointed patrons from years past to current day, all sharing their favorite Obal's memories.

Yesterday, in a Facebook post, Obal's announced that they were making a move towards returning on Wednesday, February 24th at 4 p.m.

"Doors open Wednesday 4:00pm! Hope to see everyone then! Your support and kind words have meant the world to us. We couldn’t do this with out you all!!!," stated the post.

Right now just the bar will be open. The new hours are Wednesday through Saturday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday 4-10 p.m.  They are closed Monday and Tuesday.  They promise to have the kitchen open by St. Patrick's Day.
