Shoplifting: 

06/22/2020 – Officers were dispatched to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a shoplifting. Loss Prevention stated that at 4:19 p.m. two males walked through the rear entrance. One male distracted the worker while the other male grabbed 2 Wahl clippers valued at $72.79 and fled out of the same rear door without paying. Suspects described below. This incident is under investigation. Suspect #1 is described as a light skin African American male wearing green camo shirt and dark jeans with black sneakers Suspect #2 is described as an African American male wearing black hoody jacket and black sweatpants and white sneakers 

6/23/2020- Officers were dispatched to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples Store) on report of a shoplifter. Officers spoke to the Loss Prevention manager that reports an unknown male attempted to steal 2 back packs filled with Tablet covers valued at $437.00 dollars. The suspect dropped the proceeds and fled from the store towards Grove St. Suspect described below. This incident is under investigation. Suspect is described as an African American male wearing a white shirt, tan shorts and white sneakers.

06/27/2020-The victim responded to the police desk to report his package was stolen from his residence on Maolis Avenue. The victim reported that USPS delivered his Amazon package at approximately 5:11 p.m. on the front porch. The package was then stolen at 5:19 p.m. The value of the items were $70.00. This incident is under investigation. 

Theft: 

6/22/2020-Officers responded to 10 Franklin Street (Rainbow Store) at 3:55 p.m. on report of a theft. Officers spoke to the victim who stated that she lost her purse outside of the store. The purse was ultimately returned to the victim, but missing from inside was $540.00 in cash and her residency card. This incident is under investigation. 

6/22/2020-An Officer responded to a Sylvan Road address on report of theft of his red and tan Toro gas powered lawn mower. The resident was in the process of yard work when he left the mower by the curb. He entered into his residence and when he returned, the lawn mower was gone. This incident is under investigation

06/26/2020-An Officer responded to a Berkeley Place address on report of a Theft. The victim was moving into her apartment between the hours of 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on 06/25/2020. On 06/26/20 she noticed one of her bags was missing from where they were left on the porch. The value of the stolen property is valued at $1000.00. This incident is under investigation. 

Theft from Auto 

6/22/2020- Officers responded to a residence on Floyd Avenue on report of a theft from auto. The resident’s 2007 Honda Pilot was entered by unknown suspects. Items taken from the vehicle is a wallet containing $20.00 in cash and credit cards. This incident is under investigation. 

6/23/2020- An Officer took a telephone report of a theft from a Summit Avenue resident. On June 14,, 2020 between 8:30 p.m. and June 15th 4:30 p.m., an unknown person entered her 2011 Jeep while it was parked in her driveway. Items taken from the vehicle glove compartment are Apple Air Pods and her Michael Kors Wallet containing $75.00 dollars. This incident is under investigation. 

6/24/2020 – An Officer working the Bloomfield Police desk was met by a Broad Street resident who wanted to report a theft of her EZ Pass transponder. The transponder was stolen from her 2005 Mitsubishi on or about April 13, 2020 and up until June 24, 2020. An unknown individual has been using the transponder and charged a total of $1323.00 in tolls. This incident is under investigation. 

06/24/2020-Officers responded to the area of Llewellyn Avenue on report of a Burglary into Auto. The victim reported someone broke into her vehicle between 1600 hours and 2149 hours. No items were taken from her vehicle. This incident is under investigation. 

06/28/2020-Officers responded to the area of Warwick Street on report of a burglary into Auto. The victim reported someone broke into her vehicle between 1233 hours on 06/27/2020 and 1053 hours on 06/28/2020. No items were taken from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation. 

Burglary: 

6/22/2020-Evi Ruiz age 30 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers responded to 186 Grove Street (Bloomfield Auto Wreckers) on report of a commercial burglary into a tool shed. The owner stated that on 6/21/2020 at 0530 hours he observed from his video surveillance cameras an unknown male enter the shed and steal numerous tools from inside. An investigation was conducted by the Bloomfield Detective Bureau and Mr. Ruiz was charged with Burglary and transported to the ECCF. 

6/25/2020-Officers responded to the storage facility shed located at Foley Field on report of a burglary. The storage facility door was manipulated to gain entry inside. When Officers entered, they observed football pads damaged and made into a makeshift bed. They also observed that a white refrigerator was missing from the shed valued at $200.00. This incident is under investigation. 

6/26/2020-Mathieu Benson age 28 of Bloomfield, NJ- Officers responded to 162 Glenwood Ave (Kreme and Krumbs) on report of a commercial burglary. The owner stated that on 6/26/2020 02:24 hours she observed from her video surveillance cameras, a Caucasian male who entered into the business through the bathroom window. An investigation was started and the Bloomfield Detective Bureau charged Mr. Benson with burglary and theft. Mr. Benson was released with a pending court date. 

6/26/2020-Luis Sagardia age 33 of Vineland, NJ- Officers responded to 60 Orange St (Home Depot) on report of a shoplifter who just fled the store with tools valued at $664.00. Patrol Officers later stopped a party matching the description of a Hispanic male riding a bicycle. It was later determined that Mr. Sagardia was the shoplifter and had also stole the bicycle from a Charles Street resident’s garage. Mr. Sagardia was charged burglary, theft and released with a pending court date. 

06/28/20-Officers responded to a Bloomfield Avenue address on report of a Burglary. Officers were met by the caller who heard the glass shattering outside the business. The suspect(s) entered the business via the broken glass and stole approximately $50.00. This incident is under investigation. 

Package Theft: 

6/22/2020- A Police Desk Officer spoke to a Myrtle Street resident on report of package a theft. The resident stated that at 3:03 p.m. she received notification that Amazon delivered her package containing a paper shredder and phone charger to her front steps. When she returned home to recover the package, the box was missing. This incident is under investigation. 

Motor Vehicle Theft: 

06/27/20-Officers responded to the area of North 13th Street to take a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The owner’s vehicle was stolen between the hours of 0900 to 1530 hours on 06/27/20. The vehicle as contained tools valuing at $3000.00. The vehicle is a 2002 grey Dodge Caravan Florida Registration CVHY28. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation. 

06/27/20-The victim responded to the front desk to file a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Victim stated his motorcycle was stolen between the hours of 0430 and 1900 hours on 06/27/20. The motorcycle is a silver Yamaha California registration 24K2105. The motorcycle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.
