1/13/2021-A Loss Prevention officer from Stop and Shop responded to the Police Desk to report a shoplifting incident that occurred on 1/11/2021. They observed an African American male enter the establishment and stole numerous bottles of Claritin and Mucinex valued at $826.55. This incident is under investigation.
Theft from Auto:
1/11/2021-A complainant’s vehicle was parked at 8 Franklin Street (Stop and Shop Lot) on 1/8/2021. Her vehicle was locked, but the trunk was open. Upon her return, her briefcase containing numerous documents was missing from the trunk. This incident is under investigation.
1/11/2021-A resident parked her 2018 Honda Accord in front of 63 Oakland Avenue. When her husband arrived home at 3:35 a.m., the vehicle was on milk crates and the rims and tires were stolen. The four rims and tires are valued at $2000.00. This incident is under investigation.
1/11/2021-A resident from the 1200 block of Broad Street reported that his packages were delivered to his front lobby on 1/6/2021. The property manager has video surveillance of a female stealing the packages. The packages contained energy drinks & dog food valued at $150.00. This incident is under investigation.
1/13/2021-A Bloomfield resident responded to the police desk to report that his bicycle was stolen from the bike rack located in the vestibule of Stop and Shop (8 Franklin Street). The bicycle is valued at $100.00. A witness observed an African American man who hangs around the area ride off with the bike. This incident is under investigation.
1/15/2021-A Summit Avenue resident reported a theft of package from his residence. The contents of the package were valued at $15.00. U.P.S. confirmed delivery and there are no suspects at this time.
Motor Vehicle Theft:
1/12/2021-A resident parked his 2018 Honda CRV 4 door in front of 91 Evergreen Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on 1/12/2021. At 2:00 a.m., Newark Police located the vehicle on Mt. Pleasant Avenue with the doors open. The owner had both sets of keys to the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.
1/13/2021-A Hoover Avenue resident parked his Ford F250 pickup truck in front of his residence on 1/12/2021. When he went to his vehicle on 1/13/2021, the vehicle was not where he parked it. The vehicle was located around the corner with steering column and ignition damage. This incident is under investigation.
