Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, Short Hills, will mark the beginning of the Holy Day season with a S'lichot Service on Saturday, September 12th at 7:30 pm. The service sets the penitential mood which culminates with the blowing of the shofar during the concluding Neilah service on Yom Kippur.
High Holy Day Family Services are open to friends in the community — tickets are not required. There will be separate services for families with children who read and for those with non-readers.
On Rosh Hashanah, Saturday, September 19th the service begins at 8:45 a.m.. On Yom Kippur, Monday, September 28th the Family Service will begin at 2 p.m. The Yizkor, Memorial Service on Yom Kippur begins at 4 p.m. and members of the community are welcome to worship and then to remain until the conclusion of Neilah, the final service of Yom Kippur.
