Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, Short Hills will welcome Rabbi Karen R. Perolman to the bima on Friday, July 2nd, for her first sermon as one of the rabbis of the Temple. As a student, Rabbi Perolman served a rabbinic internship at B'nai Jeshurun.

Officially beginning her tenure on July 1st, Rabbi Perolman will work with Rabbi Matthew D. Gewirtz, Cantor Howard M. Stahl and Rabbi Matthew A. Reimer, to teach and minister to members of the congregation.

Rabbi Perolman was ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, New York Campus, on May 2nd. In June, prior to her tenure at B'nai Jeshurun, Rabbi Perolman visited Africa with a group of colleagues as an advocate of women's rights.
