Sharissa Mabry, MD, a board certified family medicine physician, recently joined Maplewood Primary Care, bringing a new resource in women’s health, diabetes and wellness to the community.
Dr. Mabry will complement the high-quality primary care services offered by Marven Wallen, MD, and Scott Orenberg, DO, as Maplewood Primary Care debuts newly extended hours. The practice is part of Atlantic Health System, which includes Morristown, Overlook and Newton medical centers, as well as Goryeb Children’s Hospital.
“I am looking forward to delivering the best of care to families in the Maplewood area and empowering our communities to be the healthiest in the nation,” Mabry said.
Dr. Mabry first received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and nutrition, and then her medical degree, from Pennsylvania State University. She performed a three-year residency in family medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Prior to joining Maplewood Primary Care, Dr. Mabry was an attending physician at Columbia University Health Services, where she provided primary care medical services to students, including health maintenance physicals, women’s health care, health promotion and education, acute sick care and urgent care services.
Dr. Mabry was also part of a large group of physicians at Morris Heights Health Center, a community health center in the Bronx, NY, where she practiced adult and pediatric medicine as well as non-surgical gynecology and women’s wellness exams. While at the practice, Dr. Mabry created electronic registry that allowed her fellow physicians to better track care for patients being treated for diabetes.
