EDISON, NJ – The Annual Reorganization Meeting previous scheduled for April 24 was rescheduled by the Edison Board of Education for April 28, starting at 7:00 PM at the Education Center, 312 Pierson Avenue, Edison, NJ.
The April 24 Annual Reorganization Meeting was to take place following the April 23 BOE Elections. There are eight candidates running for three seats on the Edison Board of Education.
The candidate’s running for the Board of Education names were drawn and will appear on the ballot in following positions:
A1 Jingwei (Jerry) Shi - Incumbent
A2 Patrick Amaral
A3 Kiel Thoms
A4 Beth Moroney
A5 Shivi Prasad
A6 Chang-Hui Shen
A7 Naseeruddin Mohammad
A8 Frank Heelan - Incumbent
The three newly elected members of the Board of Education will be sworn in by reciting three Oaths of Allegiance.
1. They support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New Jersey.
2. They possess the qualifications prescribed by law for the office of member of the board.
3. They are not a disqualified voter and are not disqualified due to a conviction of a crime or offense.
Following the Reorganization Meeting the newly reorganized Edison Board of Education will conduct the monthly Action Meeting.
In addition to rescheduled Annual Reorganization Meeting, the BOE has called for two Special Meetings to be held on April 16 and May 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Education Center, 312 Pierson Avenue, Edison, NJ.
The BOE will consider a real estate matter with respect to entering into a lease agreement and any other matter that may come to the attention of the board on April 16.
At the May 16 meeting the BOE will reappoint personnel and any other matter that may come to the attention of the board.
