BOE Announces Changes to the 2014-2015 Livingston Public School Calendar

LIVINGSTON, NJ - Changes approved by the Board of Education move the last day of school to Thursday, June 25.

Livingston will have a full winter recess December 24-January 2, winter break the week of February 16-February 20, 2015, a full spring break the week of March 30-April 3, 2015, and four-day Memorial Day Weekend with days off on May 22 and May 26.


Some of those dates are weather permitting. The calendar has three inclement weather days built in. If additional inclement weather days are needed the days will be made up in the following order: May 22, June 26 (graduation would move to this day), March 30, March 31, and April 1, 2015.

The first day of school will be Thursday, September 4, 2014.

5-Day Preschool Program Too

In addition, there will be a five-day program for Preschoolers in the Fall. Applications are being accepted for Livingston’s integrated preschool program. 
 
A five-day preschool program is being offered by Livingston Public Schools beginning in September that will integrate children with special needs with regular education students.

The regular education students will be selected by lottery from applications filed by March 14, 2014 to fill available space.

The half-day classes are located at Burnet Hill Elementary School for children who turn 3 or 4 before October 1, 2014.

The 3-year-old program will be mornings, Monday-Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.

The 4-year-old program will be afternoons, Monday-Friday from 11:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

The cost for students selected by lottery will be $3,000 a year. A birth certificate, copy of immunization and proof of Livingston residency will be required of those students admitted to the program.

Applications are available at the offices of Livingston Public Schools, 11 Foxcroft Drive or online on the District’s website by clicking HERE.

Applicants will be notified of their child’s status no later than March 17, 2014.
