Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has announced that Tom Ballance has been named President and Chief Operating Officer, pending regulatory approval.
Ballance currently serves as Borgata’s Senior Vice President of Administration. He will report to Bob Boughner, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer of Boyd Gaming Corporation, who has served as President of Borgata for several years.
Ballance joined Borgata as Vice President of Development in 1998. Prior to joining Borgata, he spent 17 years at Harrah’s Atlantic City in a variety of operations and development positions.

The Atlantic City Experience(r) Museum Feasibility Study - prepared forthe Atlantic City Free PublicLibrary - will be presented to the public 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, in Atlantic City Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1301 Bacharach Blvd. The Atlantic City Experience(r) is the library's proposed world-class museum and research center dedicated to preserving the city's rich history and multicultural heritage.
The library's Board of Trustees selected Mills+Schnoering Architects, LLC (M+Sa), in 2011 to conduct this preliminary economic study, which provides: parameters related to the size and location of the museum, a needs assessment, financial analysis, a building program and engineering description, and information about implementation and sustainability. M+Sa led a research team that included financial feasibility studies expert The Eisen Group, Langan Engineering, cost consultant Becker & Frondorf and museum exhibition planner/design consultant Van Sickle and Rolleri Ltd. M+Sa is a full-service architectural firm based in Princeton with broad experience in planning, design and historic preservation. Its areas of expertise include cultural facilities, courthouses, campus planning and design, and the preservation, restoration and adaptive use of historical buildings and sites.
The firm is currently working with the National Park Service to design Life Safety Improvements for the Statue of Liberty. Locally, M+Sa's portfolio includes the redesign of the Alton Auditorium at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. The Atlantic City Free Public Library, a service of the City of Atlantic City, houses the Alfred M. The Constitution Day series of programming at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, part of Stockton’s Political Engagement Project, continues with a pre-election forum entitled “What’s at Stake in the 2012 Election?” Featured participants in the forum include members of Stockton’s Political Science faculty.
The event takes place in room C-134 on the Galloway campus here, 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012. It is free and open to the public. Panelists include Stockton faculty members Bill Daly, Alan Arcuri, David Carr, Mac Avery, Michael Rodriguez, Tina Zappile and Linda Wharton. Each member of the panel will make brief comments on areas of political expertise. Topics will include the economy, foreign policy, the federal courts and Supreme Court, among others.
Constitution Day, sometimes referred to as Citizenship Day, is an observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become United States Citizens. It is observed on September 17, or on the closest weekday to September 17 when that date falls on a Saturday or Sunday. Stockton celebrates Constitution Day with a semester-long series of events and activities.
The mission of the Political Engagement Project at Stockton is to promote the skills, understanding and motivation of students in their own political engagement, whether in the community, public policy or electoral politics. This is a non-partisan project aimed at encouraging political discourse among students, peers, faculty, and administration as well as civic action in all forms with the goal of increasing students’ life-long political engagement.
