HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - The Hillsborough Education Association Pride Committee is sponsoring Postcards for Kids, a project created to bring the community together while sending some extra support to students as they navigate the challenges of COVID-19.

The project is funded through a grant from the New Jersey Education Association and unites members of the community under the BORO PRIDE banner, according to Henry Goodhue, president of the HEA.

“We are All in This Together” is the theme of the contest.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Students in grades 5-12 are invited to create a postcard design based on that theme. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of stakeholders including BOE members, administrators, community leaders including state Assemblyman Roy Frieman (D-16th), Mayor Shawn Lipani and Shannon and Dave Winters from Sunnyside Gifts and the HEA Pride Committee.

Three winners will be selected from each school, and the winning designs will be made into postcards. Details on the contest and how to enter can be found on the flyer accompanying this story.

The postcards will be made available to elementary staff to send an uplifting message to a student or celebrate their successes. The contest will run until Jan. 31st and the winners will be announced the third week of February.

Winners will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
